From July 16 next year (2022) each Member State within the EU, at least every four years, shall establish a comprehensive national strategy for market surveillance. The national strategy shall promote a consistent, coherent and comprehensive course of action for market surveillance and to the application of the harmonised Union legislation. The scope of the strategy is stated in the Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 on market surveillance and compliance of products

According to previous regulations, there was an obligation for the Market Surveillance Council to prepare a national action plan for market surveillance that focused on myndighetsgemensamma issues and actions. These should be followed up annually and reported to the government. In addition, market surveillance authorities should prepare market surveillance plans for their specific product areas. Below are the mentioned plans until 2020.
