A new internal market strategy from the European Commission
On 28th October, the Commission launched a new strategy for the internal market on goods and services. The strategy presents a general picture of the horizontal actions that the Commission plans to implement on the internal market area throughout its mandate period.
Some of the planned actions will be of direct importance for market surveillance. The Commission intends to launch a large package with actions to strengthen market surveillance in order to prevent that non-compliant products are sold on the EU internal market and to give economic operators relevant incentives.
