The Market Surveillance Council shall annually draw up and follow up a national market surveillance plan. This plan focuses on problem areas and activities that are shared by all authorities. The market surveillance authorities shall also draw up market surveillance plans for the product areas for which they are responsible.
These obligations are found in the Swedish Regulations (2014:1039) on market surveillance, EU Regulation 765/2008 on Accreditation and Market Surveillance and the Swedish Regulations (2004:469) on Product Safety, implementing the General Product Safety Directive (2001/95/EC).
